Take Action

"There is enough for everybody's need, but not for everybody's greed." - Gahndi

How true is that. Why can't we, those who have enough step up to the plate and give a helping hand to those who have nothing?

This is my challenge to you: take action and do what you can because you can.

Sing-A-Long

A lot of us got together at Ashley and Emily's Christmas/New Years party. We played a ton of games like Band Hero, Ping Pong and Apples to Apples. We tried to play pictionary but that only lasted for so long. Eventually Austin picked up Ashley's guitar and we had an untraditional sing-a-long. We sang songs by Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Jason Mraz and FM Static.

Christmas Lights

After spending most of the day at the mall doing some shopping and returns we had dinner at the Mustard Seed. Yum! Then before we headed home we stopped and watched some Christmas light shows.

They were all really cool and went with the music that was playing on certain radio stations. Our favorite was the dog groomers.

Centenary

The Equine program here at Centenary was featured in today's Star Ledger. Which is a local paper. Check out the article.
Majoring in horses at Centenary College's equine studies center

It is a popular thing to hear when students talk about when they first told their parents that they wanted to do Equine Studies that their parents were unsure and somewhat put off by it. So when I was talking to my friend not too long ago she was surprised to hear that when I told my parents I recieved a "You can do that?" followed by "Sounds about right."

I am very fortunate to have parents and close family around me that believe in my dreams and goals. Not once have I felt that being horse-crazy was just that, crazy. So thank you.

Advent

What is advent? I've never really known or participated before, so this year it has been new to me. Each Monday a 3pm in the Chapel we have a short little "service." I looked up what the definition of advent was and this is what I found: Advent serves a reminder both of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrews for the birth of their Messiah as well as the waiting of Christians for the second coming of Christ.

Today we looked at peace. Last week hope. And the next two weeks are joy and love. This video was played and it really hit me hard.

Kind of makes you want to forget all about gift giving all together huh? Well it did for me. I want to redefine Christmas.

Amish Market

This morning we went to the Amish market with Candace's grandparents to get sprinkles for their cookie making day. We thought something exploded when we walked by this the first time!

Turns out it was just rice cakes lol. Then their grandparents were so sweet and bought me a piece of shoo fly pie. Apparently you can't visit an Amish area without having some. It was yummy.

Targetup

Target is such a great place! And the one here even has a Starbucks in it! So Sam, Candace and I went and got some coffee and did some shopping. After getting all that we needed we ran across some awesome fun :). Halloween costumes. Oh yeah! We were having a blast dressing up and found a nice man to take a picture of us. We ran around for a while more and then found ponies on sticks! That totally ment we needed to have a race. We set my camera on one of the shelves and then we were off!

God goes with Ice Cream

I had a great time at youth group tonight! I really do like it there, everyone is so welcoming and I like being able to remove myself from school and really focus on God. Before we got started with the message there was a relay race lol in giant underwear!

Here are my notes from the topic tonight:

Crazy Love
~ The world sees two types of people; the followers of Christ - those who live radically for Christ and the Christians - you are saved and will go to Heaven but you don't really have to change much
~ Is there such a thing as a Luke-warm Christian?
Luke-warm: going through the motions ("church") but no sacrifice

There is still always going to be sin but you always get back on the horse
We don't need to be perfect. That's been covered!
~ If Christianity was all about perfection then it wouldn't even be
Solutions for the Luke-warm Christian:
The answer is NOT try harder it is to fall madly in love with God!
"It all comes down to a heart issue." D.T. ;)

You should want to change and be noticeably different
To be a true follower of Christ it is a lifestyle *Like running up the down escalator*
Sometimes we have to go against the grain in order to see a difference

Nothing in this life will matter unless it's about loving God and others
-They will know we are Christians by our LOVE

On my way home everything just felt so peacefully great that the Dairy Queen I pass on my way home was totally calling to me so I just had to stop. They're having this special that has oreos and cookie dough all in one! So thats exactly what I had to get. And to make it better they don't scrape the top off, the guy gave it to me with inches of ice cream sticking out the top!

Yum!

My 18th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Me! lol. After my one class Mom picked me up and I spent the rest of the day with my family. We hung out in their hotel room and I opened my presents :). I got food, polos and a Lacoste beach towel!!! Awesome!

Mom and I went out to Dover to exchange some of the riding pants we had ordered but didn't fit. The store was huge!!! I had never before seen so many things that I could actually try on! The whole experience blew my mind and I loved it. I was able to get a nice pair of show pants, 3 schooling pairs and a show jacket!

Later for dinner we found a Cracker Barrel and had really yummy dinner. I had Chicken & Dumplins with mac and cheese and an extra side of dumplins lol. I had a great time and loved spending it with my family.

On our way home we randomly stopped at a grocery store and of course I didn't see all the balloons and cake because they were a surprise lol. When we got back to campus we had a birthday party! Garrett and Jess had gone out and gotten me a cake too and all of Reeves enjoyed the cake and told me happy birthday. It was so sweet! Thanks guys for doing that!

Dover!

We found this in an elementary school parking lot! How fitting lol.

Sandusky, Ohio

Before we really headed out of Chicago we stopped at the park and looked at all the sculptures. And we got a picture with the bean thingy! lol

When we finally got to Sandusky, Ohio it was another late night, meaning I got pretty hyper. My new jacket provided great fun! ;)

Silverwood

To celebrate Audrey's birthday she had a class party at Silverwood. Hilly came with me so I wouldn't be alone. We had a lot of fun and went straight to the AfterShock. It was crazy! We met a few friends in line and one of them had been hitch-hiking across America. That was so crazy fascinating!

They joined us on Tremors but then we went our separate ways. Hilly and I went on every thrill ride there was before our huge funnel cake for lunch. We went to the ice show, on the train ride and to the magic show for some calmer entertainment. We joined my mom and dad for the magic show and had pizza for dinner.

After that we started to go on every smaller ride we passed. Honestly the Tilta-Whirl was the funnest ride of the day! We met up with the rest of the group and started to head home. Adam and Sam rode back with us and we turned up the tunes and raved all the way home! Once we reached school the party continued. They boys sang and danced in front of the car headlights.

Happy 15th Birthday Audrey! <3

Happy Fourth

My family and I went out to our family's cabin on CDA lake to enjoy the sun, their company and see the firework display. We went out on the boat a couple times but I didn't go tubing because my back really hurt. I spent most of my day reading and trying to keep my mind occupied.

Hoopfest Day #2

I went to Hoopfest again today and I was able to watch all of Abby's games. Her team did really well and made it to the championship game and got second! They did so great! I also went and watched Janelle W. and her dad play with Jenelle O. and her dad, and then Britt, Kyle, Jake and Katie win their game.

The boys played again today and won their first game because of a forfeit. Then they won their second game making them King of the Losers :). Haha. It was a fun game to watch!

Swish!

Watch them play! lol.

Cast Party

The drama play is finally over and to celebrate we had a cast party dinner at IHOP. Yum! Pancakes for dinner is always delish. We were so loud I feel bad for our waiter and the people around us. Hey There Delilah was playing over their sound system and our whole table broke into song lol! And then Tayne is just a kid in a whole different league! Jake also sang us a beautiful song lol...it was a song they sang on their Russia mission trip.

After feasting we went to Sydnee's house. We played on her rope swing, jumped on the trampoline, ran around, carried people everywhere and played volleyball on their sport court. We also did a lot of trust falling. We did this domino thing and my knee popped really bad! :( We decided to go inside and watch a movie. 7 Pounds is a confusing movie until the last five minutes where it seems like everything happens at once!
