Picnic in the Park

   Aren't picnics just wonderful?! I love them so much and have collected all of the appropriate picnic essentials, a red and black checked blanket and a beautiful basket. We have picnicked before and we typically go to the grocery store right before and get everything to eat. A couple of sandwiches, a bag of chips, drinks and fruit. 

   As we were walking through the park with our supplies, someone pointed and was like 'awe so cute!' We know ;) It was such a beautiful day to be outside. The park was so wonderfully full of other people enjoying their Sunday afternoon. Playing catch, birthday parties, BBQ's, fishing, dogs barking and children laughing. Just lovely!

Movie Buff // Captain America

   Holy guacamole! This movie was soooo good! Literally action-packed from the start and never slowed down. I thought the last Thor movie was impressive, and then I watch this and get blown away again!

   Definitely a must see! The commercials left me very confused about this winter solider thing. Was the cap that solider, very confused (obviously not an avid comic reader lol.) But even in confusion it was a no brainer that I needed to find out. So many twists! I watched wide-eyed the whole time.

   Marvel, you are a wonderful franchise. Keep it up! Also, with it being a Marvel movie, it is standard that you stay to the very bitter end. Not part way through the credits to see the first teaser, but the end end, to see the second teaser! People should know this by now. But if for some reason this is your first time seeing a Marvel movie in theaters, sit your tush in that seat till the end. Ok? And then go watch all of the Iron Man, Thor, Captain, and Avenger movies so the pieces fit together.

Movie marathon? I think yes :)

Week 14

    I absolutely adore when it is foggy here! It must appeal to my PNW roots lol. But, that weather was short lived. Which made for perfect picnic weather so I'm not really complaining. Also, Captain America was SOOO GOOD!

How to Hang a Gallery Wall

So with all my belongings finally in one place I am now able to get things organized and in their final places. My walls have been so empty and this wall above the couch had been set aside for a gallery wall including pictures of my little fam, my own photography art, and some purchased art.

   I have yet to purchase the pieces I want to add but I have their frames already set aside. So, the first thing I did was make sure I had all of my pictures printed and framed. Then, I took poster paper and traced the frames so I could arrange them on the wall without having to nail a whole bunch unnecessary holes. On each cut out I wrote what color of frame and the picture inside so I could try to vary subject and frame color.

   I started with one of my 8x10 frames and went from there. No real method, it was only tape so it was super easy to adjust. Once I had it all worked out I hammered the nails through the poster board so I wouldn't lose the spacing. And after all of the nails were in place I started from the hardest to reach area and worked over hanging up the pictures.

   I'm really excited with how it turned out and can't wait to buy the last few pieces! It was such an easy project and only took a few hours to go from start to finish.

I got my gallery wall up, said goodbye to Psych, watched Divergent and enjoyed a lot of snuggles.

Movie Buff // Frozen

   What a cute movie! I was totally late to hop on this bandwagon. I saw it in theaters the day before it came out on DVD haha! It is definitely an animated movie I will need to own.

   Not only are the songs just too darn catchy, but the story is just perfect as well. I didn't really know what it was about at all from the commercials, which is probably why I didn't see it sooner. I had seen memes on Pinterest about how you couldn't just marry a man you just met with about every other Disney princess looking shocked. But that basically sums it up.

   Be indépendant, don't forget to have fun and stay a child, and family is the most important thing. Now if you don't mind I'm going to go build a snowman and sing 'Let it go' from the mountain tops. (Sadly neither of those things exist here in Florida)

En Garde

   I'm not really a New Years resolutions kind of gal. But, this year I took a different approach to the things I would like to accomplish over the year. I just called them goals. To me resolutions feel like something that is a complete change from what I do currently. Like they are made idealistically instead of realistically. So, this year I wrote a few "resolutions" down as goals. They are: 

• Find a Church
• Fencing Lessons
• Financial Peace University
• Read more
• Adventure
• Yoga
• Weekly Scrapbooking
• Use more film
• Utilize DSLR

   Most of these are long term commitments, or pretty open but, I just checked one off the list! I have officially taken the beginner six weeks worth of fencing classes! :) It was so much fun and I really liked that I picked it up pretty quickly. Playing a bazillion sports definitely helped lol. Fencing isn't a very physically demanding sport, don't get me wrong I was drenched in sweat every week, but it's a much more mental game. I trained with two coaches and the last week I got to bout a little bit and got a better feeling of the attack mindset that is required to be successful.

   I wish I could continue! Maybe one day when I have excess funds (what a dream) I'll return to this sport.

Farewell Psych

 Wahhhh!!! I don't want to say goodbye. Psych was such an awesome show and I hate to see it go. Shawn and Juliet's relationship mirrored mine. Their back and forth banter always felt like I've lived it before. Even Shawn and Gus' relationship was close to my BF and his bff. I'm going to miss this show! It's the first tv show that I have watched start to finish while still on air.  Anyway, here's my moment of silence for the loss….

Blah blah. More of the same ;). I do like that my style is changing a little bit though. I'm learning that not every picture I ever take needs to be included, but I still like that it's mainly focused on pictures.

Movie Buff // Divergent

   I went and saw the movie the other night and it was great!! It felt a little long, there were times where I was like 'this is still in the first book?' But, overall it was worth watching! Action packed and moving the whole time. I thought the ending could have been a little sharper to leave you in more anticipation for the next movie, but that is a small complaint.

   I actually liked it better than the book. Crazy right?! That hardly ever gets said. And I know it's just my opinion, but I thought that the book was long and drawn out in parts, and because of movie timing flowed together more seamlessly. Actually, when I was in the middle of the second book I thought that these books were written specifically to make movies. There was just enough content for it all to fit in to a movie format, but in the book form was pretty drawn out.

   I was also hesitant about the lead actress, Shailene Woodly. I wasn't sure she would be a strong enough lead. But, I have changed my tune, I thought she was a good choice. I thought the rest of the cast fit great into their characters and I look forward to seeing the future movies.

OOTD // Denim Love

   I know it's not something I've been able to experience to the fullest, but it's great when things come back into style. Oh the closet one could acquire waiting for the trends to roll back around. Honestly, I'm not really a fashion person, I only get to 'get dressed' once or twice a week. It's fun every once in a while but I'm glad I don't have to do it every day.

   A trip to Big Cat Rescue meant an opportunity to put myself together. I curled my hair and everything! I recently was able to get the rest of my closet back from living in a storage unit for over a year before I settled in to my current job. Going through the boxes of clothes was like Christmas! I was so excited when I discovered this jean jacket, I was like "Oh my gosh I'm so fashionable!" Haha yeah I'm cool.

   So, since I had rediscovered this lovely jacket I couldn't wait to put it to use. I paired it with dark skinny jeans, a loose white tank top, a geometric scarf and my favorite yellow bow purse that is the perfect size for a camera.

Alright, I caved. I went out and purchased the Midnight Edition core kit. Another MAMBI insert. I learned from Tracy how to blow a picture up to fit two 4x6's and my grandma sent an adorable card in the mail that I had to include.
